Wanda Rivera

Wanda Rivera, age 55 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on December 16, 2017 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of Adolfo J. Hernandez; her husband of 21 years. Wanda was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico; daughter of Carmelo Colon and Tomasita DelPilar. She is the loving mother of Javier G. Hernandez, Carlos J. Hernandez, Nildcia Hernandez, and Lyndia Rivera; adoring grandmother of 7; and the caring sister of Carmelo Colon, Miguel Colon, Danny DeJesus, Jose DeJesus, Alvin Cotto, Carmen Colon and Evelyn Cotto. Friends and family are invited to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home) 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 21, 2017 starting at 10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 25 Sherman Street, Bridgeport, CT 06608. Services will conclude with her interment at Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley St. Bridgeport, CT 06606.
