Thien Van Bui, age 83, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, June 23rd, 2023 at St. Vincent's Medical Hospital in Bridgeport, CT. Born in Vietnam, to the late Bông Van Bui and Nợi Thi Trân. He was a loving husband to Mai T. Ho and dedicated father to Loan T. Ho. Thien was the driving force behind his family's immigration to the United States and was the catalyst for the success of all future generations after him. To support his family, Thien had a long career in medical manufacturing at Covidien.
Thien had a charismatic personality that spread warmth wherever he went. Those who knew Thien describe him as always laughing and full of joy. His gentle demeanor and calm presence was apparent to everyone around him. Thien loved nothing more than polishing his car and enjoying a good steak with family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed the occasional gamble, tailoring projects, and caring for animals.
Thien V. Bui will always be remembered as a strong-minded, hardworking, and gentle family man. His spirit lives on through his wife, Mai T. Ho, his daughter, Loan Ho, and his four grandchildren, Uyen-Thy Joyner, Uyen-Phuong Ho, Uyen-Vi Ho, and Philip Nguyen, whose memories of their time together will serve as a constant reminder of Thien's unwavering love for his family. Rest In Peace Thien, you will be deeply missed by all those who know and love you.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Funeraria Luz De Paz located at 426 E Washington Ave in Bridgeport, CT. A private burial will follow immediately after.
