Sylvia M. Blanca, age 78, currently of Waterbury, CT has entered into rest on January 30, 2022, in Waterbury Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Waterbury, Connecticut. Sylvia was born in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the Bridgeport area since the early 60s, where she had resided until most recently when she became ill and relocated to Waterbury to be taken care of by her daughter. Sylvia is the daughter of the late Santos Jimenez and the late Gregoria Santiago. Prior to becoming ill, she worked in the housekeeping department of Bridgeport Hospital. Sylvia was known by many for her talents as a seamstress and having a green thumb. Sylvia had a heart of gold and was a very happy, lovely and strong woman that focused on her family and lived daily looking forward to the family holiday dinners and spending time with her children, grandchildren and close family members. Nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by those she loved so much. Those times she spent with them, today will be the treasures in their hearts.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours which will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022, beginning at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 25 Sherman Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
Final disposition will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
Proper mask usage is required at all times while inside the funeral home and church.
