Obituary for Sevelio M. Rosado
Sevelio M. Rosado, age 86, of Bridgeport, CT, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, humility, and hard work. Born in Lajas, Puerto Rico, Sevelio moved to Brooklyn, NY at an early age, where he built a life defined by devotion to family, a love for nature, and a dedication to the crafts he learned throughout his life. Sevelio was also known as “Joe” amongst family and friends; and “Sal” amongst his colleagues.
Sevelio was a man of humble spirit and known for his quiet strength and unwavering work ethic. He spent many years as a Sheet Metal Mechanic in the manufacturing industry, where his meticulous attention to detail and strong hands shaped not only metal but also the lives of those around him. He later attended the DeVry Institute of Technology. He found joy in the beauty of daily walks, particularly along St. Mary’s by the Sea in Bridgeport, where he often took time to reflect and appreciate the serenity of nature. Sevelio was a family man who always provided for his loved ones with a generous and welcoming heart. His greatest joy was his family, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was the devoted husband of the late Eufemia “Femi” Rosado, who preceded him in death just months ago. Together, they declared their love for each other over 64 years ago, a bond that remained strong throughout their lives.
He is survived by his children, Nancy Rosado, David Rosado, and Daniel Rosado; his grandchildren, Alexis Janel Rosado and Liamjohn R. Velazquez; and his sisters, Elsie Bass, Dalila Rosado Armengol, and Juan Rodriguez. Sevelio was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Montalvo and Ana Rosado, as well as his siblings, Milton Lopez, Margarita Rosado, Jose Erasmo Torres, Nidia Montalvo Ramos, Maria Montalvo, Efrain Rosado, and Carlos Antonio Rodriguez.
