Segundo Cruz

Segundo Cruz, age 86, beloved husband of Nelida Cruz, has returned to the Presence of His Heavenly father on January 20, 2021 in his home while surrounded by his family. Segundo was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico the the late Juan Cruz and the late Tomasita Cruz, but had relocated to the Bridgeport area many years ago. Segundo was a man who loved the Lord and showed it throughout his life with his actions, reactions and every breath he took. He studied the bible and yet in the most recent times when his illness challenged many things, the scriptures were something he never failed to remember clearly and enjoy speaking about. He was blessed with the ability to use great metaphors to explain things which many struggled to understand, yet his metaphors would open that door they needed to fully comprehend what others fail to explain clearly. He was a man focused not only on his Lord but on the Family God gave him. He worked hard to provide and make sure there was food on the table for his family at all times. He didn't need luxuries, but cherished the treasures God granted him on this earth; Regardless of how busy or how many things he had to do, he always made sure the family understood that there is time for everything under the sun and nothing was more important to him than they were. He made sure nothing was to occupy the space that belonged to his family as they created memories which today become the treasures to last a lifetime. He was employed at the same company for over fourty years before retiring and focused his energy in his home and family. He leaves a legacy of things he left behind but the greatest thing he leaves is the Love he gave to each and every one. His circles were small but valued, and they all knew the blessing it was to be in Segundo's small circle. Segundo leaves to cherish his memory, besides his wife, his children, Freswinda Cruz, Segundo Cruz, Jr. and Rosa M. Cruz; his 6 grandchildren, with special mention of Tanya Cruz and Victor M. Queiros whom he treated as his own children throughout their life. 4 great grandchildren with special mention of Cristian Queiros whom he also embraced like if he was His own child although a great grandchild; his siblings Virgemina Perez, Abigail Serrano; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom will forever remember the humble, quiet but notable man called Segundo Cruz; Final services have been held Privately and final disposition will be at a later date in Puerto Rico; Please feel free to sign our online memorial webpage as a place where you may share pictures, memories, prayers, and so much more but is found only and EXCLUSIVELY at www.luzdepaz.com;
