Sandra Rivera, beloved daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away on September 16, 2023, at the age of 64. Born on April 3, 1959, in Manhattan, New York, Sandra's life was a testament to love, resilience, and a free-spirited nature that touched the hearts of everyone she encountered.
Sandra dedicated ten years of her life working as an Executive Secretary in a Law office in New York. Her dedication and commitment were evident in every aspect of her career. She brought her exceptional organizational skills and warm personality to the office every day, creating a welcoming environment for both colleagues and clients.
Beyond the boundaries of her career, Sandra had a profound love for music. Whether it was dancing to her favorite tunes or simply enjoying their melodies at home, music ignited a spark within her soul. She also cherished spending quality time with her family and adored her precious grandchildren. Building memories with them brought immeasurable joy to Sandra's heart.
While we mourn Sandra's passing, we are grateful for the services she rendered throughout her life. A visitation in honor of Sandra Rivera will be held on September 20th from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608.
Sandra's educational journey began at Jamaica High School in Queen, NY. Later on, she pursued higher education and earned a bachelor's degreee while residing in Puerto Rico—an accomplishment she held dear to her heart.
Those who knew Sandra best recognized her as a kind-hearted soul akin to a sunflower—radiating warmth and compassion wherever she went. Her presence alone could make others feel at ease; she possessed that rare gift of making anyone feel welcomed. Sandra had an infectious sense of humor that would light up any room.
Independence was one of Sandra's proudest achievements, and she embraced it with great courage and determination. Her spirit remained unyielding, even in the face of adversity. When facing challenges, Sandra stood tall, exemplifying inner strength that inspired those around her.
Throughout her life, Sandra found solace in various hobbies and interests. She had an eye for creativity, enjoying shopping and adorning her surroundings with beautifully decorative pieces. Additionally, Sandra found a love for writing—an outlet where she could express herself and document the moments that colored her life.
Sandra Rivera is survived by her father, Ruben D. Rivera, her mother, Anatilde Rivera, her daughter Yomayra Rosado, son-in-law John Torres, brother Ruben Rivera Jr., grandchildren John C. Torres Jr., Jamilett Torres, and Jonnahliz Torres. She touched the lives of numerous friends who will always remember her warmhearted nature.
As we bid farewell to Sandra, let us celebrate the life she led—a life filled with laughter, love, and a never-ending zest for freedom. May her memory forever be etched in our hearts as we carry on her legacy of resilience and compassion.
