Rufino Acevedo, 71, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on May 14, 2021 in the comfort of his home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Camuy, Puerto Rico to the late Rufino Acevedo and Enelida DeJesus. He is the beloved husband of Carmen M. Santiago Acevedo. Rufino was a dedicated employee of US Surgical from which he retired after many years of service. He was an avid fisherman who could be found at his favorite spot in the far end of Seaside Park in Bridgeport. He was particularly fond of eating flounder and blackfish. His green thumb produced bountiful harvest of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and beans from his own garden in his backyard. On the weekends after dinner he enjoyed playing cards, especially any form of poker. Aside from his beloved wife, Rufino leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving children, Enelida Andujar and her husband Israel, Rufino Jr. and his wife Yadira and Victor and his wife Rachel, his adoring grandchildren Jaden, Joshua, Sofia, Samantha, Nathaniel and Adriana and a host of family and friends. Calling hours will take place on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. The proper usage of mask and social distancing will be required will inside the funeral home at all times.
