Rose Janine Decoste Florus

Rose Janine Decoste Florus, 82, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on 1/2/2023 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT.  She was born in Haiti and immigrated to the United States a number of years ago.  

Rose spent many years in Haiti working in the fashion industry as a clothing designer.  She was also passionate about flowers and used her green thumb to cultivate a multitude of beautiful flowers and bountiful vegetables.  She was skilled in turning her harvest into delectable meals.  She also enjoyed memorable moments at the beach.  Rose devoutly served the Lord and was generous with all that she had.  She prayed fervently for others and thanked the Lord for his abundant blessings.

Rose leaves behind to honor her memory her loving daughters Marlene Altenor, Marjorie Decoste and Nadine Decoste, four precious grandchildren and five dear siblings and a host of friends and family that will miss her sorely.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 12:30 at Luz de Paz Funeral Home, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Interment will follow immediately after at Mt. Grove Easton Cemetery, 1 Harvester Road, Easton, CT.
