She was a cherished grandmother to Michael Montañez, Eric Oquendo, Jessica Montañez, Haydees Valencia, Kelly Pannone, Karen Oquendo, Angela Uribe, Daniel Uribe, Juan Caraballo, and Sasha Oquendo, and a beloved great-grandmother to Alina, Destiny, Michael-Zane, Zara, Thalia , Rosaria, Paulo, Samara, Arianna, and Lunaira. In her younger years, Rosa moved to the United States from her hometown of Fredonia Antioquia, Colombia. She worked in manufacturing for a few years, but her true calling came after her retirement when she dedicated herself fully to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was always her first priority, and she showed unmatched strength in every challenge life presented her.

A devout Catholic, Rosa’s unwavering faith and daily prayers were the foundation of her family’s life. She was a woman with a deep spiritual connection, and her family found comfort in knowing that God listened to her special prayers.

Beyond her faith and family, Rosa was a talented seamstress and enjoyed music, dancing, cooking and celebrating life. Her vibrant spirit and boundless energy made her the life of any party, and even in her later years, she maintained her fierce independence.
