Rosa Cristina Pugo Tenesaca, born on July 4, 1968, in Cuenca, Ecuador, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2024, at New York Presbyterian Hospital, New York while surrounded by her loving family.
Rosa was a vibrant soul who brought joy to those around her through her love for dancing, music, and spending cherished moments with her family. Her passion for cooking was unparalleled, and she found immense joy in sharing her culinary delights with others.
Employed at Jennie's Pizzeria in Monroe for over 20 years, Rosa's dedication extended beyond her work hours. During the warmer months, she could be found at Wentfield Park, in Bridgeport, CT cooking and selling delicious food and beverages to the community, especially when the Ecuadorian Soccer League were playing games. Rosa's presence was a constant, her smile and delectable dishes a welcome sight for everyone.
Rosa is survived by her loving husband, Jose Zhispon Tenecela, and her children: Juan Carlos Zhispon, Blanca Zhispon, Jorge Zhispon, Claudio Zhispon, Edgar Zhispon, Julia Zhispon, and Erika Zhispon. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, her siblings: Dolores, Ricardo, Mercedes, Vicente, Virgilio, Natividad, Celena, and Luis, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Rosa will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Public visitation has been scheduled for Sunday, July 14, 2024, from 6-9 P.M. The final viewing will be on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery.
