Obituary for
Roberto "Tito" Sanchez
Roberto Sanchez, affectionately known as "Tito" or "Shorty," passed away on December 1, 2024, in New Haven, Connecticut, at the age of 67. Born on June 9, 1957, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, Roberto was the beloved son of the late Pedro Sanchez and Gladys Mercado, who currently resides in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
He is survived by his devoted children, Christopher Sanchez (Ivana Lee) and Ashley Sanchez; his siblings, Pedro M. Sanchez and Wanda Alger (Sanchez); nieces, nephews, and countless friends and extended family who cherished his presence in their lives. Roberto shared a special and unique bond with his mother and his aunt, whom he lovingly regarded as a second mother.
A man with a selfless heart, Roberto always put others before himself, embracing life's challenges with unwavering dedication to his family. Fiercely protective and deeply loyal, his pride and joy were rooted in the love and connections he built with those closest to him.
Roberto found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time with his family, sightseeing, shopping in New York, and sharing his passion for children, dogs, horses, and cars. He especially enjoyed attending car shows, where he admired vintage vehicles and the artistry involved in their restorations. A man of warm gestures and kind words, he never missed an opportunity to say “I love you” to those he cared for, making his affection and love known at every chance.
In his younger years, Roberto’s talents brought smiles to many. He was a gifted singer and even played a clown character in a television program while living in Puerto Rico. Later in life, he became known for his impeccable sense of style. Selling clothes was not just a passion for Roberto; it was a reflection of his keen eye for patterns, colors, and trends, as well as his desire to always look his best.
Roberto's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. He will be remembered for his gracious spirit, his unwavering devotion to family, and his genuine desire to bring joy to those around him.
May he rest in eternal peace.
