Rev. Roberto Rodriguez, Age, of Bridgeport passed away into the Glorious Presence of the Lord on July 20, 2107 in Bridgeport Hospital while surrounded by his family. Pastor Rodriguez or who so many graciously called Pastor Bob was born to the Late Casimiro Rodriguez and Maria Rodriguez currently of Florida, in New York, New York but had relocated to the Bridgeport area at an early age. Pastor Bob had an unparalleled sense of humor, and one who never lost a good verbal comeback; When you knew Pastor Bob, you knew his heart was right, his spirit was in place, in sync. with the desires of God's heart, otherwise he was Rev. Roberto Rodriguez to everyone else. He is a graduate of Bassick High School; He was the pastor of The Iglesia Bautista el Calvario de Bridgeport, Inc. for over 20 years and was the founding pastor. Pastor Bob met the love of his life Rev. Irene Rodriguez while living in New York while attending the Segunda Iglesia Bautista en Manhattan; Since they met, they have been inseperable. Together they became parents to two vibrant young men Stephen Rodriguez and Gabriel Rodriguez; He was also survived by his sisters Lillian Canning, Gladys Rodriguez and Sylvia Mora; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom will dearly miss him; Pastor Bob had some really tough battles health wise, but even in the weakest of moments, he knew His Redeemer lives and never doubted in the Power of the God he served and lived for. He loved his church, He loved the members and non members, His non stop prayers blessed many and helped all. Truthfully a loss not only for his church, but for the countless lives touched by the great servant heart of a Pastor. Friends may attend calling hours on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 5 P.M.
