Ricardo Martinez

Deacon Ricardo Martinez, 67, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on May 23, 2023, at Yale New Haven Health, New Haven, CT.  He was born in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico to the late Juan E. Martinez and the late Aida Hernandez.  He is the beloved husband of 48 years of Evelyn Moran Martinez.

Ricardo was a modern day Renaissance man.  He was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service who enjoyed a variety of interest from duckpin bowling, deep sea fishing, parties and dancing.  His greatest passion was his service to the Lord.  He was a faithful deacon for over 25 years at Blessed Sacrament Church in Bridgeport where he served in many capacities including the Knights of Columbus.

Aside from his beautiful wife Evelyn, Ricardo leaves behind his loving sons Ricardo (Olga), Michael and Erik (Yomali), his precious grandchildren Leyenda, Michael, Ethan and Emily, his dear siblings Aida, Ester, Maria, Alicia, Rafael and Ruben and a host of friends and relatives that will miss him dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, from 10:00 AM - 12:45 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, 275 Union Street, Bridgeport, CT.  Burial will follow immediately after at St. Michael's Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Avenue, Stratford, CT.
