Reinaldo Delgado, born on July 22, 1943, in Camuy, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024. He was the beloved son of the late Maria and the late Martin Delgado. Reinaldo's life was marked by his deep love for his family and his unwavering dedication to his work. He was the cherished father of Miguel Delgado and his spouse Luis A. Santiago, Orlando Delgado and his spouse Marie Delgado. Additionally, he was a loving stepfather to Gladys Delvalle and her spouse Eric Delvalle, Sandra Dobson, Janet Marrero, Alfredo Marrero, Marilyn Marrero, Juan Jr. Marrero, and Fernando Marrero. Reinaldo was a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and a doting great-grandfather to 22 great-grandchildren. His legacy of love and hard work will continue to inspire his family for generations to come. At the age of 18, Reinaldo moved from Puerto Rico to Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he married Carmen Daisy Delgado. He embraced fatherhood at the age of 21. Reinaldo dedicated his life to the landscaping business, a passion that defined his career and brought beauty to countless homes and communities. His commitment to his craft was matched only by his willingness to help others, earning him the admiration and gratitude of his neighbors both in Puerto Rico and Connecticut. Reinaldo's neighbors fondly remember him as a man always engaged in tending to his yard or house, a testament to his tireless work ethic and dedication to creating a welcoming and beautiful environment. His kindness, generosity, and relentless spirit will be missed by all who knew him. Reinaldo Delgado's life was a tapestry woven with love, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to family and community. He leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace is our wish for his children the late Reynaldo Delgado and the late Maritza Soto, his parents, his siblings, the late Antonio Cruz-Delgado, Cocho Delgado, Pancho Delgado, Leo Delgado, and Sister Delgado.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, July 6, 2024, beginning at 8:00 AM followed by a funeral service at approx. 10:00 AM. Soon after we will be departing to the Park Cemetery Association 620 Lindley Street, Bridgeport, CT where he will be laid to rest.
