Ramon Figueroa Ortega, a dedicated and loving father, passed away peacefully in his home on February 1, 2025. Born on June 19, 1928, in Ciales, Puerto Rico, Ramon's journey through life was marked by diligence, humility, and an infectious sense of humor that brightened the lives of all who knew him.

In his early years, Ramon completed high school in Puerto Rico, and his natural intelligence did not go unnoticed. His employer recognized his potential and encouraged him to pursue higher education, a testament to his remarkable abilities and work ethic. Throughout his career, Ramon consistently demonstrated his dedication to excellence, rising through the ranks to become a respected supervisor in a company that manufactured items for NASA. His responsible nature and unwavering commitment to his work garnered the admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Ramon was not just a hardworking professional; he also proudly served his country in the United States Army. His military service reflected his sense of duty and honor, qualities he carried into his civilian life.

As a father, Ramon was a wonderful provider and nurturer. He leaves behind his cherished children, Adelaida Figueroa, Jorge Figueroa, and Hector Figueroa, who will forever hold their father’s spirit and values close to their hearts.  He was the proud grandfather of ten grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Ramon's love extended beyond his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gloria Figueroa, and his son, Ramon Figueroa Chevere, both of whom he missed dearly. Their memories shaped the essence of his life, filling it with love and purpose.

In his personal time, Ramon found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He delighted in strolling through Old San Juan, soaking in the vibrant culture that was dear to his heart. As a cinema buff and beach lover, he reveled in moments spent enjoying the natural beauty around him and the stories told on the silver screen.

Ramon’s legacy of honesty, responsibility, and good humor will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched. He will be greatly missed but will continue to inspire through the values he instilled in his family and friends.

Visitation will take place on February 14, 2025, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. A burial service will follow at 1:00 PM at the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown, CT.

Ramon Figueroa Ortega, un padre dedicado y amoroso, falleció muy tranquilamente en su hogar el 1 de febrero de 2025. Nacido el 19 de junio de 1928 en Ciales, Puerto Rico, la vida de Ramón estuvo marcada por la diligencia, la humildad y un sentido del humor contagioso que iluminó la vida de todos los que lo conocieron.

En su juventud, Ramón completó la escuela secundaria en Puerto Rico, y su inteligencia natural no pasó desapercibida. Su empleador reconoció su potencial y lo alentó a continuar con estudios superiores, lo que reflejaba sus notables habilidades y ética de trabajo. A lo largo de su carrera, Ramón demostró constantemente su dedicación a la excelencia, ascendiendo hasta convertirse en un supervisor respetado en una empresa que fabricaba artículos para la NASA. Su responsabilidad y compromiso inquebrantable con su labor le ganaron la admiración de colegas y amigos por igual.

Ramón no solo fue un profesional trabajador, sino que también sirvió con orgullo a su país en el Ejército de los Estados Unidos. Su servicio militar reflejaba su sentido del deber y honor, cualidades que llevó consigo a su vida civil.

Como padre, Ramón fue un proveedor y protector ejemplar. Deja atrás a sus amados hijos, Adelaida Figueroa, Jorge Figueroa y Héctor Figueroa, quienes siempre llevarán consigo el espíritu y los valores de su padre en sus corazones. Fue un orgulloso abuelo de diez nietos y de muchos bisnietos.

El amor de Ramón trascendió a su familia inmediata. Fue precedido en la muerte por su amada esposa, Gloria Figueroa, y su hijo, Ramón Figueroa Chévere, a quienes extrañó profundamente. Sus recuerdos moldearon la esencia de su vida, llenándola de amor y propósito.

En su tiempo libre, Ramón encontraba felicidad en los placeres sencillos de la vida. Disfrutaba pasear por el Viejo San Juan, empapándose de la vibrante cultura que tanto atesoraba. Como amante del cine y del mar, se deleitaba en los momentos en los que podía disfrutar de la belleza natural a su alrededor y de las historias contadas en la gran pantalla.

El legado de honestidad, responsabilidad y buen humor de Ramón permanecerá para siempre en los corazones de quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo. Será profundamente extrañado, pero su influencia continuará viva a través de los valores que inculcó en su familia y amigos.

Las visitas se llevarán a cabo el 14 de febrero de 2025, de 8:30 a. m. a 11:30 a. m. en la Funeraria Luz De Paz, ubicada en 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Posteriormente, el servicio de entierro se realizará a la 1:00 p. m. en el Cementerio Estatal de Veteranos en Middletown, CT.

Al reunirnos para celebrar la vida de Ramon Figueroa Ortega, atesoremos los recuerdos compartidos y honremos el impacto profundo que dejó en nuestras vidas.
