Rafael Aparecido Lacerda

Rafael Aparecido Lacerda, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on September 30th, 2023 in Bridgeport, CT. He was born on August 25th, 1993 in Brazil.

Rafael's warm heart, and jovial personality endeared him to all those fortunate enough to have known him. Rafael's wit and humor were legendary among his family and friends. Infused with dry sarcasm and dark humor, his jokes never failed to bring laughter to any gathering. He had a special knack for teasing his sister playfully and provoking his family with a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. Despite their usual banters, Rafael's love for them always shined through. Rafael found enjoyment in playing video games with his best friend Yuri, barbecuing, going to the shooting range with his best friend Jr. and hanging out with his friends and family.

Beyond his hobbies, Rafael's proudest accomplishment was providing a home where his family could be together. Rafael and his father Elmir spent countless hours renovating so that their family had a beautiful home.

The biggest blessing in Rafael's life was his daughter Olivia. The way she lit up when she saw her dad was indescribable. The bond they had in the short amount of time together is something that can never be broken. Olivia will always know how wonderful her father was and how much he adored her.

Rafael's love extended beyond his immediate family. He was a true friend to all those around him—always ready with open arms and a listening ear. Known for his empathetic nature, he had a way of brightening the lives of others with his infectious charisma and genuine care.

Left to cherish Rafael's memory are his loving wife, Angela Lacerda, their daughter Olivia Lacerda, his parents Elmir Lacerda and Gessi Goncalves, his sister Jhenifer Lacerda, his childhood friends JR Almeida, Yuri DaSilva, Elton Santos, and so many more. Their lives were forever touched by Rafael's presence, and they will continue to carry his memory in their hearts. Rafael Lacerda will forever be remembered for his simplicity, boundless love, infectious laughter, and unwavering friendship. As we bid farewell to our cherished friend and family member, let us hold onto the memories that will continue to bring warmth to our hearts. May his soul find eternal peace.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 8:30 AM, 391 Ogden St., Bridgeport, CT. A visitation in honor of Rafael will follow at 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Funeraria Luz De Paz located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608.
