Rafael A Gonzalez

Rafael A. Gonzalez, 66, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on January 19, 2022, at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. He was born in Camuy, Puerto Rico to the late Evaristo Gonzalez and Lydia Maria Zamot Gonzalez.

Rafael was an extremely dedicated employee of the University of Bridgeport for over 30. He enjoyed his job in the Security department and took his responsibilities of protecting the community very seriously. He was a simple man with a polite demeanor who enjoyed spending time with his cousins at Seaside Park.

Rafael leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving sisters Nancy Gonzalez, Miriam Ocasio (Vincent), Mildred Colon, Jessica Calvao (Julio), Jenny Franquez (Duran) and a host of family and friends who will miss him sorely.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Burial will follow immediately after at Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley Street, Bridgeport, CT.

Proper mask usage is required inside the funeral home at all times.
