Primitivo Rivera

March 25, 1963 — July 22, 2020

Primitivo Rivera Jr, "Mudo"- as many graciously called him if they knew him from his younger years and others "Tivo"as he currently would of wanted, currently of Manchester, CT, age 57, has passed from this world into the restful, glorious presence of the Lord, suddenly on July 22, 2020 in his home; The son of Raquel Piñero currently of Pembroke Pines, Florida; Mudo was born in Bridgeport and after being raised in the Bridgeport area he had most recently was residing in Manchester, CT. Mudo is the Spanish word that describes a person who has the inability to speak, and although he was mute and deaf, there was always something about him that encouraged those around him to share time with him and for some even learning sign language that they would learn with him, with the main goal of being able to communicate effectively with him. This disability as many would call it, which for many has created the inability to develop and learn and do as many others have, with such "automatically" given things, Tivo, would not allow the word disability be the one word to describe him. He enjoyed every minute of life, wherever he was, his contagious joy, one that inspired many as they themselves would learn that we choose many times to live in disappointment or appoint what is next to conquer, to learn, to achieve. Although he did not have some things that many of us take for granted, There was nothing he did not know or learn how to do with his hands. His hands had the abilities of anyone who would have had such a level of knowledge that it never held him back from doing for those he loved. He loved spending time with his family. The parties, the events, the graduations, the moments that are monumental times in a family, there and/or near was Tio Tivo. As a child he had attended the Good Shepherd Christian Church, we he was given the tools and the weapons to achieve the greatest thing ever..... Salvation in Christ....Not perfection because until such a day, He was simply Saved! His relationship with the almighty God, A relationship between him and God, that although he initiated and learned about God as a child there was no doubt how he clearly understood, that leaving this life without Christ was not an option. There were times when his family would gather and when he arrived the fun began, his sense of humor again, reeled everyone in and never would you see him down, regardless of experiencing many possible reasons to be that way. Therefore, it was he who decided to be some light in the midst of darkness, and brought joy for many, wherever he was, as he would be the person they counted on, the person who never needed anything than that which he gave, love, care and affection he so well shared whenever he was around. His memory will last forever although his life was cut short. In believing and trusting God even at his last breath he knew his redeemer lived, He knew that although that valley was about to be walked, he feared nothing but knew everything. He knew the promises he learned as a child, was that which he was going to experience as he closed his eyes to this earth and began hearing the Heaven's shout, and the angels sing and rejoice as they began receiving his spirit which returns to God who gave it. His soul will rest in peace, his soul can rest, because only Jesus could guarantee that to him, as it is promised in God's word, and the promises He set forth for Mudo, Today, Mudo whom changed his name to Tivo, is now seeing what he once imagined and even more, responding to his God given eternal name, speaking to anyone he sees, how amazing it is, to know that the great I AM, never left Him or foresaken him, regardless of whatever he encountered. Ultimately, He who called him had told him those promises, and those promises are NEVER just words, they are Power! Having the ability to speak or hear, did not dictate his life, yet allowed him the blessing to connect with many on a level that many never realize you can connect. He created together with his family the memories that will last a lifetime. For Mudo his "Disability" was his greatest ability that maybe challenged him to always demonstrate that the power of a disability is as strong as the willingness to conquer and achieve! He blessed so many lives, helped so many, loved so many and gave so much, that until you met him, you would of never realized that until then you had not met such an amazing guy! In addition to his mother, Tivo is survived by one daughter Jasmine Rivera; his siblings, Luis A. Rivera, Carlos Rivera and his wife Jacqueline C. Rivera and Jasmine Arana Velez and her Spouse Saul; his stepbrothers Albert M. Jimenez whom was Tivo's compadre, Mario and Luis Jimenez; they all became a big "Brady bunch Males edition" family; his nieces and nephews Rachel M. Rivera, Shanida Crespo, Samantha Rivera, David W. Rivera, Matthew C. Rivera, Carylin A. Rivera, Marco A. Arana, and Mellissa Arana; his Aunts Titi Iris N. Piñero and Lucy Piñero; and so many others whom were part of his life as friends and some friends he even considered family that will forever miss his gracious personality and phenomenal presence.
