Petra Gonzalez

Petra Gonzalez, age 82, of Bridgeport has passed away into eternal, yet Glorious presence of the Lord on April 29, 2020 in her home in Bridgeport, Connecticut; Petra was born in Puerto Rico but had relocated to the Bridgeport area at an early age and mainly had resided here most of her life. She loved the lord with her heart, soul and her entire existence. She was committed to doing what she had to especially in her area of expertise, the kitchen, where her abilities to cook the Puerto Rican cuisine, not the modern boxed way, but more of the authentic, scuffed knuckles after making sofrito kind of Puerto Rican Cuisine. Ultimately everyone enjoyed her cooking and she enjoyed making it to know how much all enjoyed it. She had married in 1960 her beloved husband Jose Gonzalez; She was the family Matriarch and a position she held graciously. Ultimately nobody could take her place. Her focus in life consisted of making sure her family was fine, had everything they needed and more, that her church was good, Crafting and creating some pretty works from her hands and ideas and Worshipping the almighty as she did while doing anything and everything. If you listened closely you could hear her hum singing as she would accomplish her daily tasks. Truly she will be sadly missed by all and without a doubt today reaping what she sowed....to be in the presence of God for an eternity. Petra is survived by her children Victor Gonzalez, Alfredo Gonzalez, Roberto Gonzalez and Mirna Gonzalez; Over ten grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends whom will sorely miss her beautiful genuine soul. She was predeceased by her son the late Cheo Gonzalez; Final Disposition for Petra will be taking place privately considering the overwhelming situations in our Country because of COVID-19 restrictions, that we are all being affected by, but please share this page as we memorialize her and remember the wonderful things she did while God blessed us with her in this world. Feel free to share videos, pictures, stories, memories, prayers, pictures and anything else the family knows or may not know because ultimately who you are when your alone is who you really are and no doubts in anyone who knew Petra that she always had a good thing to do, good thing to give, and stopped at nothing to bless everyone she could! Her passing began the Life she so much worked for and today for eternity she will bask in the perfect presence of the almighty.
