Pablo Vega Alvarado, age 73, a man whose presence brought warmth and joy to all those around him passed away on May 14, 2024, in St. Vincent's Medical Center, in Bridgeport, CT. Pablo is the beloved husband of Carmen Rivera who he embraced in his arms daily for over 30 years. Pablo leaves behind a legacy of love and memories of savory dishes for years to come.
He was Born on April 8, 1951, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, but in 1966 relocated to the mainland United States and has been here since. Pablo's life was a tapestry woven with threads of kindness, generosity, and dedication to his family and friends alike. A talented, self-employed fenceman, he practiced his trade with pride and commitment to each project he did. Pablo who many graciously called "YuYo" is the loving father to Jose Vega and (Belinda), Carmen Marcano (Luis), Alitsa Vega (Raynick), Osvaldo Vega (Jessica), and Eric Vega (Jennifer). His children remember him not only as a parent but as a friend who was always there to support them through life's joys and challenges. His love for his Fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren was unparalleled.
Pablo's passion for cooking was legendary; whether he was grilling up a feast or crafting tasty delights in the kitchen, his skills were unmatched. Family gatherings were made extra special by his delicious creations, which added flavor to every moment shared. Playing dominos was another beloved pastime of his - a game at which he excelled and relished playing during family events.
He cherished the time spent in his garage, he looked forward to relaxing in the hammock and enjoying the simple pleasures of life. His warm and caring nature extended beyond his family as he was always willing to lend a helping hand to others in need. A dedicated fan of the New York Yankees, Pablo found joy in following his favorite team through victories and defeats (well, most of the time).
In addition to his immediate family, Pablo leaves behind a legacy carried on by his siblings Norma, Daisy, Gladys, Zayra, Lourdes, Awilda, and Vele; Fourteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and cherished relatives and friends. May he now be reunited with his late father Pablo Vega and mother Aurea Alvarado in the eternal embrace of peace.
