In Loving Memory of Pablo Cesar Rojas Salazar
June 29, 1936 – January 3, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Pablo Cesar Rojas Salazar, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who peacefully departed this life at the age of 88. Born on June 29, 1936, in Lima, Perú, Pablo lived a life rich with love, faith, and dedication to his family and community.
In 1970, Pablo immigrated to the United States, where he began a new chapter of his life, ultimately meeting his beloved wife, Mercedes Rojas Barahona, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership for over 45 years living in Bridgeport and most recently in Stratford, CT. Together, they built a nurturing home in an atmosphere filled with faith, respect, and unwavering devotion.
Pablo’s heart overflowed with pride for his cherished daughters, Ana Maria Romero (and Maximo Alberto) and Roxana Miranda (and Ivan), and his beloved grandchildren: Milagros Romero (Jeancarlos Cotrina), Angelica Romero, Pedro Romero, Alyssa Martinez, Mateo Miranda, and Jocelyn Eva Miranda as well as for his great-grandchildren: Francisco and Antonio Cotrina. His love and guidance left an indelible mark on their lives, and his memory will forever live in their hearts.
He also remained a beloved brother to Concepción Rojas Salazar, Guillermo Rojas Salazar, and Alicia Rojas Salazar. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Rafael Rojas Contreras, Isabel Ventura Salazar, Josefa Rojas, Eduardo Colfer Salazar, Federico Colfer Salazar, David Colfer Salazar, Maria Rojas Salazar, Hector Rojas Salazar, and Rafael Rojas Salazar.
Pablo was a genuine soul who dedicated himself to his family. He found great happiness in simple pleasures, like cooking and even washing dishes, transforming the ordinary into acts of love and care. Whether it was completing everyday tasks or taking on responsibilities not typically associated with societal roles, he embraced every challenge with joy and humility.
His faith was a cornerstone of his life. An active member of the St. Charles Borromeo Church family before most recently moving to Stratford, Pablo contributed faithfully to the "Legion de Maria," the Cursillo community, and many other church ministries in any way that he could, while instilling these same values in his family.
A lifelong soccer enthusiast, Pablo loved playing the sport in his youth and never missed the opportunity to watch a good match. A passionate traveler, he explored the world with visits to Puerto Rico, Spain, Mexico, Israel, France, Italy, Portugal, Egypt, and many other destinations. Yet, nothing compared to the joy of returning to his homeland, Perú, where his heart always found its greatest peace.
The family invites friends and loved ones to honor Pablo Cesar’s life at his viewing, scheduled for Tuesday, January 7, 2024, at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06608.
Mass will be scheduled at St. James Church, Stratford, CT on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 10:30 AM.
Pablo Cesar’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
