Omer Guy Charles

Omer Guy Charles, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 27, 2024, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Born on April 22, 1963, in Haiti, Omer was a dedicated commercial driver known for his hard work and commitment to his profession. His career was not just a means of livelihood but a reflection of his character; he approached every task with determination and diligence.

Omer's charming personality and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. He was often described as selfless, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. His ability to connect with those around him made him a beloved figure in his community and an invaluable presence to his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Marie M. Jean-Louis, and his children: Wisline, Jeff, Cynthia, Branden, Allen, and Alex and Ben. Omer's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jamari Simeon, Soleil Simeon, Ayden Charles, Ava Charles, Céline Thompson, and Adrian Charles, each of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life.

Omer was preceded in death by his father, Etienne Charles, and his mother, Glorifise Celestin. Their love and teachings shaped the man Omer became, and he carried their memory with him throughout his life.

A viewing will be held at Silliman Baptist Church, located at 1728 Fairfield Avenue, Bridgeport, CT, on January 18, 2025, from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Following the viewing, he will be laid to rest at a Lakeview Cemetery 885 Boston Ave Bridgeport, Connecticut 06610. Following the burial, the repass will be held at 100 Front Street Bridgeport, CT. 

Omer Guy Charles leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, hard work, and compassion. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
