Nilda Mandry, born on January 12, 1942, in Salinas, Puerto Rico, passed away on November 4, 2024, in Leesburg, Florida. She was surrounded by her loving family in her son-in-law and daughter's home at the time of her passing, a testament to her enduring bonds and deep connections with her loved ones.
Nilda had a vibrant personality, often described as feisty, funny, and happy. Her zest for life was evident in all that she did. A dedicated professional, Nilda worked as a machine operator in the manufacturing industry in the Greater Bridgeport area. Throughout her career, she lent her skills to several prominent companies, including Bridgeport Hospital, Carnival Toys, Sikorsky, and Emson Research. Her contributions to these workplaces reflect her strong work ethic and the commitment she held towards her profession.
Beyond her career, Nilda was a woman of diverse interests and hobbies. She loved shopping and took great pride in maintaining her nails impeccably polished in various colors. Additionally, her passion for cooking brought her joy, whether it was preparing meals for her family or sharing family mealtimes with conversation and laughter.
Nilda is survived by her three daughters: Betsy Arrington and her husband, Harvey L. Arrington Jr.; Evelyn Zayas and the late Carlos Zayas; and Wanda Cedeño, 7 precious grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, her brother Jimmy Galindez, many nieces and nephews and a host of relatives and friends that will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Mandry, and her parents, Serso Martinez and Adelia Velez.
The family will hold a viewing on Friday, November 15, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz, located at 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT. Following this, a burial service will take place, starting at 1:15 PM at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Ave., Bridgeport, CT.
Nilda's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
