Nestor Iran Collazo, age 67, of Bridgeport beloved son of the late Ernesto Collazo and the late Rita Collazo has returned home to the heavens above on June 17, 2020 and while he transitioned to begin his eternal life, he was surrounded by those he loved so much. Nestor was a good man with a heart of gold; there was nothing more engaging for Nestor than being surrounded by his family, his friends and lets not fail to mention his many cats. Nestor enjoyed every minute he had with those he loved, yet he always looked forward to that one day when everyone came together to celebrate his Birthday because on such celebrations he would always enjoy and cherish the love he felt from his most cherished; Nestor is the husband of Aurea Burgos whom he married many years ago. Another passion he has was his love of cars and loved his jeep as if it was the best car on Earth, and it was because it was his! As Nestor spent his days enjoying his family, his wife, his siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends, he didn't skip a beat and didn't want a moment to pass without sharing the best of him with them. Above all Nestor shared the greatest gift he had, his Love, the one thing, his entire family knew about him, the love he shared, the unselfish, caring, supportive, heart that embraced everyone that surrounded him, whether it be family or friends, there was enough for all.
In addition to his beloved wife Aurea whom he married over 40 years ago, Nestor is survived by his children, Janet Colon, Jacqueline (Carlos) Burgos, Brenda (Miguel) Bonilla, Maria Colon, Nelson (Ivette Rodriguez) Burgos and Zoraida (Angel) Reyes; his grandchildren, Dana Colon, Phoebe Pabon, Ana Feliciano, Tessiny Colon, Miguel Bonilla, Melissa Sanchez, Jovanny Reyes, Angel Reyes, Tiffany Burgos, Nelson Burgos, Jr. and Nelson (Dingo) Burgos; eleven great grandchildren; his siblings Luis collazo, Iris Collazo, Leyda Collazo, Aurea Velez, Ernesto Collazo, Jr. Eddsson Collazo, Ramon Collazo, Carmen Llera, Ana Collazo, Ada Awilda Ramos, Eddie Collazo, Hilda Garcia, Nilda Liz Collazo and Edith Joan Collazo; and a host of other relatives and friends whom will dearly miss him. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION REGARDING RESTRICTIONS REG. COVID 19
The Covid-19 Virus, the rules, regulations, limitations, and everything that has been stated by the government health officials has been challenging for all and funeral homes are not exempt from such plentiful rules and regulations. We just want everyone to keep in mind, thus regulations and rules are made for the GENERAL well being and health of the public. Please be advised that during the current phase of the COVID-19 Pandemic, as our State once again moves on to open and return back to normal implementing each phase, the current guidelines have determined that during viewing and visitation, and Funeral Services, 49 persons or less would be the amount of persons permitted inside the funeral home at one given time in order for the 6 ft social distancing requirements are able to be applied. Such number is determined by the measurements of the square footage of the facility divided by 36, then divided by 4 which would equal the number of persons permitted. Therefore, we have determined that the back door of the funeral home will be EXCLUSIVE ENTRANCE AND EXIT utilized as a form of crowd control and be able to confirm the amount of persons inside at all times. All done to prevent going over such number inside the facility at one given time, thus preserving and permitting the safe, non threatening atmosphere each person should enjoy during the current times.
Please know that although we always welcome visitors during services, please consider these restrictions that have been implemented to protect the health and wellbeing of all parties present including funeral home staff alike. We understand the importance of showing support and above all our appreciation to someone who meant so much, but we encourage those that can be able to consider the family who is also grieving and join us via Zoom vs in person, as the family will always be aware of those online with the screen visible to see those online, but having a line of persons outside will create many family members to move away from the place they want to be, Inside the funeral home with their loved one) to grant others the opportunity to come inside as they step outside. therefore please consider such alternative vs. the removal of family members from the chapel to grant access to others as the number of attendees inside the funeral home is strictly adhered to, without exception of person, or disability as these regulations are set forth for the GENERAL Health and well being of the GENERAL Public, therefore, these things are not optional. Finally, for those whom do arrive, please be advised, without exception, MASKS MUST BE WORN TO ENTER AND DURING THE ENTIRE TIME ANYONE IS INSIDE THE FACILITY. It is a law and therefore anyone within the City of Bridgeport outside their home MUST wear a Mask in any public setting and Funeral homes and services is considered a public setting....
