Nereida Garcia Gonzalez

Nereida Garcia Gonzalez, 70, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on January 7, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT.  She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to the late Ramon Garcia and Ana Gonzalez.  

Nereida was a very humble person. She courageously battled her recent illness with grace and dignity.   She was a kind person who loved everyone.  She was meticulous about how she kept her home, and this was evident as she spent most of her time cleaning.  

Nereida leaves behind her loving children, grandchildren Ismael Martinez Perez, Raymond Martinez, Iswaly Zairy Martinez Villa siblings Victor, Vincent, Anna, Zenaida, Yolanda, Nancy, Antonio, Raymond, Miriam, Sylvia, Norberto and David Garcia, her stepchildren as well as a host of friends and relatives that will miss her dearly.  She was predeceased by her children Ismael Martinez Perez, Raymond Martinez and Ricardo Martinez.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Interment will follow immediately after at Mt. Grove Easton, Cemetery, 1 Harvester Road, Easton, CT.
