Nancy Almodovar Melendez

Nancy Almodovar Melendez, age 61, of Bridgeport, has passed away into the peaceful rest of the Almighty on October 20, 2021, in Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility, Milford, CT. Nancy is the daughter of the late Juan Almodovar and the late Irene Melendez and was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico before relocating to the Bridgeport area many years ago and has resided here since. Nancy was a woman full of life, spunk, and determined. She was a single mother for many years and while raising her children expected nothing but the best from them as she allowed them to grow and become respectable, and productive men and women. Nancy was a great cook and enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids alike. Her favorite pass times were traveling, getting in the car, heading to a shopping trip to the local store, and browsing. Ultimately her care for her family superseded anything that came across her table because she lived to make sure they were ok. Her strong, yet gentle, spirit will never be forgotten. She created memories that her children, siblings, and grandchildren alike may never forget.

Nancy leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Luis Perez and his spouse Danis Torres, Giovanni Perez and his spouse Nisha Rivera, Jonathan Perez and his spouse Joanna Acosta and Francisco Perez and his spouse Santa Perez; her daughters Gisela Esmurria and her spouse Luis and Elizabeth Perez and her spouse Victor Garcia; her siblings Carmelo, Aracelis, and Dempsey; her 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son the Late Jose Perez; her siblings the late Ramon Pacheco, the late Ilvin Carrasqillo.
