Monserrate Serbia

Monserrate Serbia, age 95, returned to the Loving Arms of the Lord at her Hartford Residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Bienvenido Burgos. Monserrate was born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico; daughter of the late Jose A. Serbia and Natalia Alvarez. She loved reading the bible and attended several Pentecostal churches in Bridgeport, CT . She always prayed for her family members, friends, and spoke of how great God is and encouraged others to trust in Him and give Him all their worries . What she prayed for and saw with her eyes were miracles, and in that she glorified His name. When she couldn’t get to church, she listened on her radio and broadcasted the word of God all day long. She is the loving mother of Gladys Burgos, Norma Iris Carillo, Carmen Gloria Ramos, Silvia Ramos, Ruben Ramos, Antonio Burgos and Miriam Navarro. Monserrate was predeceased by her children, Julio Burgos, William Burgos, Edwin Quinones, and Angel Luis Burgos. Family and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz (Peaceful Light Funeral Home) 426 E. Washington Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06608. A Service is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. Her interment will be private and at the convenience of her family.
