Migdalia Rodriguez, age 75 of Bridgeport, returned to the Loving Arms of our Lord and Savior Jehovah on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Julio Rafael Rodriguez.
Migdalia was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico; daughter of the late Antonio Medina Alvarez and Josefa Correa Alvarez. Migdalia has been a long-time resident of Bridgeport, CT since the age of 11 and worked as a CNA until she retired. Her favorite pass time was listening to music and dancing. She loved to cook for her family while she practiced her storytelling and later relaxed by watching her beloved “ION TV.”
She is the loving mother of Vivian M. Rodriguez, George Rodriguez, Wendy A. Rodriguez, Leslie M. Rodriguez, Jeffrey Rodriguez and Julie Rodriguez; the caring grandmother of Nadege M. Martinez, Teryn A. Vereen, Troy A. Vereen, Josephine E. Rodriguez and Leilani C. Rodriguez; and the great-grandmother of Ninah M. Martinez; her extended grandchildren Paulie Martinez and Shiloh Martinez.
She was a loving sister to the following living sibilings, Carmen Adorno, Virginia Pabon, and Airam Alvarez and sister-in-laws Nydia Alvarez and Margarita Garcia. She is predeceased by her two brothers, Jose Alvarez and Ivan Alvarez. She is further survived by her best friend and sister, Norma Flores; her "adopted son" Manuel Estrada and nieces and nephew, Sandra Adorno, Judith Brown, Sonia Linares, Lillian Pabon, Edmer Pabon, Juan Pabon, Orialis Pabon and Nyisha Pabon, Marianella Alvarez, Arisel Greenhill, and Ariel Alvarez, Evelyn Cajigas, Elizabeth Negron and Victor Negron. Migdalia was also blessed with her son in law Troy A Vereen, and Damont Gee and daughter in law Crystal Martinez.
Family and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Monday, October 19, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz. Her interment will follow at Mt. Grove Easton Cemetery, 1 Harvester Road, Trumbull, CT 06611.
