Marta Lopez

Marta Lopez, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed peacefully in the comfort of her home on March 26, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on November 12, 1936, on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico in Caguas.  She dedicated her life to her family and community, working as a laundress for many years until her retirement.

Marta was the embodiment of love and care, a high-spirited woman who was truly the pillar of her family. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, making her a beloved figure to friends and relatives alike. She was deeply devoted to her children: Luis Lopez, Aida Lopez, Mirna Rivera, Jose Lopez, Sonia Lopez and Jose Rafael Lopez. Her legacy lives on through her 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, who will carry with them the warmth and wisdom she imparted throughout her life.

An aficionado of arts and crafts, Marta found joy in creating and sharing her creations with those she loved. She also relished in the challenge of word searches, often finding peace in these simple pleasures. Marta's laughter and spirit will be profoundly missed by her family, who admired her steadfast strength and the love she so generously gave.

In addition to her beloved family, Marta reunites in spirit with her late husband, two brothers, one sister, and her grandson, Samuel Sanchez, who welcomed her with open arms.

Marta's visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, CT, followed by a burial at Mt. Grove Easton Cemetery at 1:30 PM.

As we remember Marta Lopez, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments. She will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
