Maria L. Velazquez

Maria L. Velazquez, 84, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on August 13, 2023, in her home surrounded by the love of her family.  She was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico to the late Isaac Velazquez and the late Emilia Sanchez-Vasquez. She is the beloved companion, of Wilberto Sanchez.

Maria was a very happy person who enjoyed listening to "ranchera" music and going for walks. She was a very talented cook who lovingly prepared delicious meals for everyone.

Aside from her loving husband, Maria leaves behind to honor her memory her precious children Maria M. Sanchez, Orlando Sanchez, Ricardo and Diana Sanchez, Elizabeth Sanchez, Jannette Sanchez and Claribel Sanchez, many darling grandchildren and great grandchildren, her dear siblings Juan, Herminia, Isaac, and Gloria and a host of friends and relatives that will miss her dearly. She is predeceased by her daughter Marilyn and Lisette Sanchez and her siblings Reinaldo, Emilio and Porfiria Velazquez.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 5-8 PM and again on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from 11-12 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  Burial will be held on Tuesday at 12:30 PM at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
