Maria Carmen Rivera, age 65, of Stratford, has entered into eternal rest with the Lord on January 9, 2022, in her home. Maria was born in Laredo Texas to the Late Gabriel Suarez and the late Juanita Suarez. She was raised in East Chicago where she met her life partner Edgardo Rivera, then relocated to Connecticut, residing in Stratford for over 30 years. Maria retired after 22 years of service as a Judicial Marshal for the State of Connecticut. Maria loved her family with every part of her being. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, shopping whether at the mall or the Flea Market. Maria's vibrant personality always found a reason to get the family together, have a celebration for as simple as the reason may be for others, for her, it gave another reason to be together. After her retirement she always planned on relocating to San Antonio, Texas. She will be remembered by many as the wonderful person who could not be forgotten.
Maria is the loving mother to Jerry Feliciano and his Spouse Jahaira, Cynthia Miranda and her Spouse Jason, Lisa Pineda and her Spouse Richard, Carmen Louis-Charles and her spouse Walter. Maria's heart truly belonged to her grandchildren, Angelica, Jerry, Jr., Christian, Xavier, Jennifer, Jason, Jr., Alexandria, Anthony, Sean and Atiana Along with her one great grandson Julian. She is the loving sister of Leticia Berrios and her spouse Luis, Ernesto Suarez and his spouse Maria, Gilberto Lopez, Jr., Joaquin Lopez and his Spouse Carol, Cynthia Lopez and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who will dearly miss her. In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her brother the late Gabriel Suarez.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, January 17, 2022, beginning at 10:00 AM at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport. A Funeral service will take place at 12:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home followed by interment in the Mountain Grove Cemetery Easton, in the town of Easton, CT.
