Maria Rosado Hernandez, age 98, currently of Bridgeport passed away into the peaceful rest of the Lord on September 16, 2018 in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT; Maria was born in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico but had relocated to the Bridgeport area since the early 70's and throughout time spent years going back and forth to the spectacular warm climate of her homeland; Maria was a precious woman,, humble, compassionate and one that did not care about a language barrier to connect with anyone and everyone she came across or simply even sat in the same room with; As a Matriarch of her family, anyone she met, suddenly they also called her Mama and she never ceased to give her blessing to them; She was everyone's grandmother and mother; At an early age, Maria became an orphan but immediately stepped up to the plate to play an active roll in the upbringing of her younger siblings. her doors were always open, her coffee was always on the stove and regardless of who you were, what your social status was, her table was always ready for you; Maria was always an active part of the upbringing of not only her 11 children but that of her grandchildren also; She loved the Lord and enjoyed singing any moment she could. Each phone call ended with endless kisses; She was part of the Confrada de Maria and Legion de Maria and always played an active roll in her church since the time of the St. Anthony Church, St. Peter's Church, St. Mary's Church and of course St. Charle's Church;
Maria is survived by her Children Juan Domingo Hernandez, Ramon Antonio Hernandez, Jose Nolasco Hernandez, Juan Francisco Hernandez and Luis Antonio Hernandez; Her daughters Maria DelCarmen Hernandez, Rafaela Hernandez, Juana Esther Hernandez, Crucita Hernandez, Sarita Hernandez and Luz Selenia Hernandez; her brother Mercedes Rosado Hernandez; 31 grandchildren; 61 great grandchldren, 9 great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends whom will dearly miss her;
Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, September 20, 2018 from 6-9 P.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, (Peaceful Light Funeral Home), 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT; Funeral Services have been scheduled for Friday, September 21, 2018 beginning at 11:00 A.M. DIRECTLY at the ST.
