Obituary for Maria D. Cedeño

Maria D. Cedeño, 70, of Monroe, CT, and formerly of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, on September 29, 1953, Maria lived a life filled with warmth, love, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.

Maria was known for her deep connection to nature and cherished her time at Seaside Park in Bridgeport, where she delighted in watching sunsets, strolling along the beach, and feeding the seagulls. Her love for the outdoors extended to fishing with her late husband, Efrain Cedeño, small walks, brief hikes, and gardening. Whether shopping or spending quality time with family, Maria’s spirit shone brightly through her passion for life.

She is survived by her children, Jessi Pizarro (Barbara Falkowski), the late Maria Del Carmen Roy, Angel M. Pizarro, and Juanita Arocho ( Ray Osorio), her blended family daughter Denise Cedeño.  Maria was a loving sister to Jesus Perez, Magaly Perez, Gladys Perez, Benjamin Perez, Hector Perez, Lydia Perez, and Rosa Milagros Perez her devoted sibling who was always by her side, exemplifying unwavering love and support.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Laura, Noah, Liam Pizarro, Alana and Mackenzie Moore, Angelica Pizarro, Leana Pizarro, Milagros Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Eggy Patron, and Linda Patron, as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Friends are invited to join the family for a viewing/visitation on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Burial will take place at the Park Cemetery Association on Friday, August 9, 2024 located at 620 Lindley Street, Bridgeport, CT. Everyone will be gathered graveside at 11:00 A.M.

Maria will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
