Manuel Torres, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 15, 2024, at his residence in Bridgeport, CT. He was born on December 14, 1944, in Caguas, Puerto Rico.
Manuel led a fulfilling life as a handyman, dedicating his days to helping others with his skilled hands and kind heart. His love for his family was unparalleled, and he especially cherished his granddaughters, Alina Yanel Torres, Liana Alexa Torres, and Zoey Olivia Torres.
Beyond his career and family, Manuel found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Gardening was not just a hobby for him but a way to connect with nature and nurture beauty. He also took great pleasure in the art of pig roasting (Lechonero) and took pride in maintaining his yard with care and dedication.
Manuel is survived by his loving wife Francisca Torres, his siblings Maria Torres, Jose Antonio, Juan, Carmen Aida, Teresa, Maria Providencia, Ernesto, and Tomasa; his daughter Yesenia Torres (Angel Morales Jr.); his sons Julio M. Torres (Madelin Torres) and Manuel Torres Jr. (Lydia Torres). His legacy will live on through the memories they shared and the values he instilled in them.
He was preceded in death by, his father Pablo Torres, his mother Teofila Rodriguez, his brothers Pedro, Manuel, and Enrique, and his sister Carmen Delia. The loss of Manuel will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Services to honor and remember Manuel's life will take place at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport starting on May 21st with visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continuing on May 22nd from 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM. A Mass will follow at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 AM before the burial ceremony at Mt. Grove Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
