Magdalena Ortiz

Magdalena Ortiz-age 87, currently of Beverly, MA passed away on August 31, 2022, surrounded by loved ones at the Ledgewood Nursing Facility in Beverly, MA.. Magdalena or as many graciously called her "Elena" was born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico to the late Juan Ramos and the late Maria Medina.  She relocated to Bridgeport, CT in 1952.  Magdalena is the beloved wife of Marcelo Ortiz.  She was known for being a woman of faith who enjoyed reading the scriptures.  She had a generous heart and whenever she noticed someone in need she did whatever she could to help.  She was an avid walker and on her journeys met many people.  Her social nature and outgoing personality was noted wherever she went. She will be missed by many, and her memory cherished by all.  

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Magdalena Lohnes (John Barry), Elizabeth Ortiz and Genesis Ortiz (Jahaira). Her siblings Esteban Nieves and Martina Rosa, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, and friends who will dearly miss her.  

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, September 10, 2022, beginning at 9:00 AM at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT followed by interment in the Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield, CT at approx. 12:30 P.M.
