After a courageous battle with cancer, Lydia M. Guzman, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on May 27, 2024, in St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT. She was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico to the late Julio Colon and the late Angelita Gonzalez. She was the beloved wife of Carlos R. Guzman.
Lydia was a talented and nurturing person. She was a dedicated teacher at ABCD Early Childhood Center who lovingly cared for and inspired many young minds. In her spare time she loved to crochet, enjoyed music, and delighted in the time she spent with her son and her dog Princess. Her fondest memories were the moments she spent making her house a home for her children, and the special people in her life.
Aside from her husband, Lydia leaves behind to honor her memory her precious son Lance and his wife Omaira Colon Valentino, her siblings Nancy Rivera, Tomasita Colon, Angel Colon, Julio Colon, Diana Colon and a host of friends and family that will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her children Lydia Rivera and Gabriel Valentino.
A private service will be held at the discretion of the family.
