Luz Nereida Rodriguez, Age 83, was born in the beautiful town of Camuy, Puerto Rico. Luz passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, in the comfort of her home in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin Rodriguez, who preceded her in death in 2008. A woman of deep faith, Luz loved God and found great joy in attending church. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the delicious aromas of her cooking—she was a remarkable cook who cherished time spent with family especially during the holidays. Luz also enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: the excitement of slot machines at the casino and the drama of her favorite telenovelas were among the things that brought her joy.

 She is survived by her sister, Carmen Rosa; her sons, Benjamin Rodriguez, Miguel Rodriguez (Olga), and Luis Rodriguez (lifelong partner April); five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 6-9 PM at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.

Final Viewing will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, CT.
