Luz Maria Rivera

Luz Maria Rivera, 73, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on August 23, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT.  She was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico to the late Rafael Reyes and Eulalia Vazquez.  She currently resided in Milford, CT with her beloved husband Ivan Rivera.

Luz was an amazing woman who enjoyed long walks on the beach and collecting seashells, shopping, dancing, listening to classic salsa music.   She was known for making bacon and black beans.  Although she may have been overheard to complain about a thing a two her love for her grandchildren was unwavering as they were her greatest source of joy.

Luz leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children Lisa, Lorraine and Anthony, 7 precious grandchildren Gabrielle, Michelle, Daniella, Natalie, Rubi, Asim and Jayden; 4 great grandchildren; Arielle, Olivia, Sofia and Theodore; her dear siblings Maria Reyes and Luis Matyas and a host of friends and relatives that will miss her dearly.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
