Lillian DeJesus

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Soto-DeJesus. She left us too soon, to be with Our Lord and Savior on November 15, 2024 at the age of 67, with her son by her side.

Lillian fought her battle with cancer with unwavering courage for years. Despite spending much of that time in treatment, she never lost her beautiful smile. Throughout her entire journey, she showed remarkable strength and will. We take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering. 

Lillian was a loving mother and grandmother. She took pride in watching her sons become wonderful men with families of their own. Lillian's personality was vibrant, her joyful spirit lit up any room she entered. She was a member of St Peter's Church. Lillian enjoyed listening to music, dancing, cooking, watching movies, arts & crafts, reading and most of all spending time with the joy of her life, her grandchildren.

Her goals and achievements toward education was impeccable. She graduated from Bassick High School, attended Bryant & Stratton Business Institute, Housatonic Community College where she earned her Associates Degree, University of Bridgeport, and Yale University - Majoring in Law and Criminal Justice. 

She was preceded in death by her father Pablo De Jesus Sr, brother Pablo De Jesus Jr, and son Jose Soto Jr.   She is survived by her mother Guadalupe De Jesus-Sierra, siblings Libby Ayala, Carmen DeCampos, Gloria De Jesus, and Aida De Jesus, son Ismael Luis Soto, grandchildren Ismael Enrique Soto, Isaiah Angel Soto, Ismael Angel Soto, Tiana Lillian Soto, Joey Joel Soto and numerous nephews and nieces. 

Lillian was the heart and soul of our family. She will be dearly missed and forever live in our hearts.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 8:00 am - 11:00 am at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 am at St. Peter's Church, 695 Colorado Avenue, Bridgeport.  Interment will follow immediately after at Mt. Grove Cemetery, 2675 North Avenue, Bridgeport.
