After a long and courageous battle Judith Castro, 68, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on July 21, 2021 in her home. She was born to the late Luis Felipe Soler and and the late Antonia Quiñones de Soler in Camuy, Puerto Rico. Mrs. Castro was a dedicated educator for over 20 years and not only just an educator, Judith had a God given gift to be able to connect with the children she taught. This connection allowed them to excel higher. She taught the entire spectrum from pre-school thru high school. Her sweet nature endeared her to children whom she loved helping them develop their minds and nurturing their quest for knowledge. The feeling was mutual as her students loved her and were excited to see her arrive. She was a very friendly and dependable person whom all could rely on. Judith was a fertile gardener who found solace in exercising her green thumb. She was also known for her culinary masterpieces using her special ingredient of love to feed all who came to her table. She enjoyed taking local drives to enjoy the scenery. Above all, Judith cherished the time she spent as a mother and grandmother. Those were the titles that she was most proud of, even more so than all the degrees she held. Judith gave of her self endlessly to the best of her abilities. She was blessed with the ability to gracefully give of herself. She will be sadly missed by All! Judith leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughter Sylvia Ellis and her husband Kevin. Her precious grandchildren; Sevin, Hevin, Phurious, and Cyrious, her adoring siblings; Aquitania, Felipe II, Jose D., Bienvenido and Eliezer Soler, and a host of other family and friends and family whom will miss her dearly. Calling hour will be held on Wednesday, July 28 at noon at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. A brief service will be held in the funeral home followed by interment at St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford, CT.
