Juanita Valle Barreto, age 72, passed away peacefully in New Milfdord, Connecticut. Bridgeport was the city she called home since moving to the United States mainland in 1983. Born in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, Juanita was a vibrant and energetic soul, known for her love of dancing to Bachata music, indulging in her morning coffee and crackers, and enjoying the music of Marco Antonio Solis. She was a true bachatera at heart, with a passion for novelas and traveling, always dreaming of returning to her beloved Puerto Rico.

Juanita was a strong-willed woman with a no-nonsense attitude, yet her heart overflowed with love and affection for her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Maria M. (Jaime Lopez) Rodriguez, Ivette (Nelson Burgos) Rodriguez, Janet Rodriguez, and Elizabeth Rodriguez (Juan D. Febles), 15 grandkids and great grandchildren, along with her cherished nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends who will deeply miss her presence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel Valle and Catalina Valle (Barreto), and her beloved son, Jose A. Rodriguez. Juanita’s legacy of love, resilience, and joy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
