Juan Vazquez

January 4, 1950 — October 11, 2024

Juan Vazquez, a beloved husband, father, and friend, graced this world with his warm smile and generous spirit, making an indelible mark on everyone who was fortunate enough to cross his path. Born on January 4, 1950, in the picturesque town of Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, Juan embraced life with enthusiasm and a zest for adventure that would carry him through a tapestry of remarkable experiences until his gentle passing at home in West Haven, Connecticut, surrounded by those he loved on October 11, 2024.

A dedicated employee of Pepsi for over 40 years, Juan embodied the virtues of hard work and loyalty, migrating through various roles from delivery driver to warehouse management. His commitment was unwavering, punctuated by the high regard in which he was held by colleagues who appreciated not only his work ethic but also the light he brought into their lives.

Juan was a man of many talents. He possessed an accomplished musician's heart, often enchanted friends and family with his guitar, singing melodious songs that resonated with joy and nostalgia. His love for music was paralleled only by his passion for traveling, where he painted vibrant memories upon the canvas of his life. An adept dancer, he moved gracefully across the floor, embodying rhythm and soul, his infectious joy captivating those around him.

In leisure, he found delight nestled among challenges—whether as a competitive domino player, a skilled woodworker crafting fine pieces from timber, or enjoying the great outdoors. His hobbies were diverse, reflecting a rich inner life and a ceaseless curiosity about the world. It was said that no one could match his spirit at the domino table or the enthusiasm he brought to family gatherings.

Juan leaves behind a loving family who cherished him deeply. Luz "Lucy" Santiago was his beloved spouse for over 30 years, offering companionship and support that transcended the ordinary. Together they built a vibrant life, sharing in laughter and overcoming life’s trials hand in hand. Their beautifully blended family, Gisela Vazquez, Wilson Vazquez, Gilbert Santiago, Lisa Aponte, and Charly DelValle, 17 precious grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

His siblings, Carmen, Rosin, Felicita, Jenny, Israel, and Leopoldo Jr, his brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews remember him fondly, holding on to cherished memories of their time together. Although he has departed from this world, he is reunited with his beloved parents, Leopoldo Vazquez and Margarita Rivera, along with his siblings, Jose Luis, Reinaldo, and Helia, who now welcome him in the embrace of eternal peace.

A viewing celebrating the life of Juan Vazquez will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Funeraria Luz De Paz in Bridgeport, Connecticut. In this moment, family and friends will gather to honor a life rich in love, music, and laughter—the legacy of a man who truly lived. His memory will echo in the hearts of all who had the joy of knowing him.
