On Saturday, April 25, 2020, Juan Ramon Cruz, loving husband and father of two children, went to be with our Lord at the age of 70.
Juan was born on September 24, 1949 in Cidra, Puerto Rico to Julio Cruz and Sara Gomez. On July 17, 1971, he married Maria Cruz. They raised two sons, Edgar and Josue. Juan raised his family in Cayey, Puerto Rico, where he worked as a psychiatric therapist, before moving to Bridgeport, CT with his wife and then, teenage boys. Here in Bridgeport, CT he saw his children marry and start their own families which they added 10 grandchildren. Edgar and his wife Zeidy, parents to Kelvia, Caleb y Miriam and Josue and his wife Marcela, parents to Omar, Mia, Sebastian and Michelle. Also Ashley, Melanie and Joel.
Juan had a passion for music and playing his saxophone, where he was blessed to use his musical talent to praise the Lord as a musician in his church, La Peña de Horeb. He also loved taking care of his family and always making sure they had what they needed and wanted. But let’s not forget to mention how he enjoyed the homemade sweets made by his wife Maria.
Juan was preceded in death by his father, Julio. He is survived by his wife Maria, his two sons, Edgar with wife Zeidy and Josue with wife Marcela, his grandchildren, his mother Sara, his brothers Israel, Ruben, Enoc and Lamec, his sister Sara Milagros and several nieces, and nephews.
As you are aware, the situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic limits our ability to gather to celebrate Juan’s life. We know you’ll understand the need to postpone a service, for now, but hope you will join us in honoring his life at a later date.
