Josefina Nishimura

Josefina Nishimura, age 92 of Bridgeport, returned to the Loving Arms of the Lord on Thursday September 7, 2017 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Nishimura. Josefina was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico; daughter of the late Pablo Bonilla and Ramona Sotomayor. Josefina was a devoted Catholic who devoted her life to her family; all of whom she loved dearly. She is the loving mother of Evelyn Tenayuca, Teudy Montalvo, Carol Nishimura Velazquez, Francis Nishimura, Margaret Mester, and Domingo Antonio Alvarez; and the adoring grandmother of 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Josefina was predeceased by her children, Hilda Montalvo and Walter Nishimura. Friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 3 - 6 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave., Bridgeport, CT 06608. Her entombment will take place on Monday, September 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. directly at Mt. Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT.
