Jose L. Calderon, 73, entered into eternal rest on November 27, 2022 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. He was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico to the late Antonio Calderon and the late Cruz Negron. He is the beloved husband of Myriam Calderon.
Jose was lovingly referred to by many as "Yogi". He was a true American hero who served this country in a number of capacities. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a decorated war hero who served in Vietnam. Upon his military completion he joined the Connecticut Department of Corrections for more than 20 years. Yogi was a great jokester who always made people laugh. His proudest accomplishment was the beautiful family he created. He particularly cherished the moments that he spent with his grandchildren.
Jose leaves behind to honor his memory his beloved wife Myriam, his loving son Jason, his precious grandchildren Sarina Dicola and her husband Robert, Deanna Ramos and her husband Matthew, and Amaya Calderon; his darling great grandchildren Olivia, Noah, Robbie and Sophia; his dear siblings Elva Santana and Antonio Calderon and a host of friends and relatives that will miss him dearly.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 4:00 -7:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
