Jose “Lupe” Martinez, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend gained his wings unexpectedly at 69 years of age on April 27, 2024. Born in Tijuana, Mexico on June 20, 1954, to the late Guadalupe and Maria Martinez, Lupe was the fourth son of eight children, Raquel, Ruben, Raymond, Raul, Guillermo, Jose and the late Lilia. He leaves behind his loving wife, Carmen of 42 years, his son, Ricky, his daughter, Celines and adoring grandchildren, Obed and Janelly.
He will forever be remembered for his loving and caring nature, infectious laugh, love of music and passion for playing lead guitar. Lupe began playing lead guitar at the age of 19. He was extremely talented and played with many bands throughout the years. He inspired a lot of music enthusiasts including his brothers and many friends. Lupe was in the process of writing a love song, but he was called to God before he could finish. To honor Lupe’s memory, pursue your dreams and don’t let fear or age hinder the process and always try to find laughter in your
day.
Calling hours and service will be held on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, from 2:00 - 5:00pm at Luz De Paz Funeral Home at 426 East Washington Ave, Bridgeport, CT.
