Johnson “Tony” Serrano born on June 23, 1945, entered into eternal rest on May 8, 2024, at St. Vincent’s Hospital surrounded by his family. Tony was born in Mayaguez Puerto Rico, as a young boy the family moved to Bridgeport where he spent the rest of his life. He worked at Bullard Company for more than 15 years then owned his own business for many years. He retired after working for several years for the City of Bridgeport.
Tony is survived by his wife Gloria Serrano, his daughter’s Wanda Sanchez, Elizabeth Delgado (Husband Jose Delgado), Carmen Ballester (Husband Juan Ballester). He has six grandchildren. Ricardo Velez (Wife Jasmine), Elizabeth Walker (Husband Julian), Sharlene Sanchez, Juan Ballester, Jr., Jailyn Ballester and was predeceased by his grandson Heriberto Marquez III. He has 6 great grandchildren. Janyah, Isabella, Isaiah, Cataleya, Joyce and Jayce. His siblings are Juan Serrano, Maria Gonzalez, Socorro Delvalle, Angela Melendez and was predeceased by his sisters Magdalena Robles, Milagro DeJesus, Raquel Laguna, and Elba Rivera Serrano .
Tony was a great man. He was a second Father and Grandfather to many. He enjoyed going to the Casino and loved the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. As a testament to his strength and discipline, Tony achieved a black belt in karate, embodying resilience and dedication in all facets of life. He was a great Husband and an amazing Father, and he will be greatly missed by many.
Calling hours to pay tribute to Tony's life will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 East Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Though he may have departed this world, Tony's spirit will forever remain a guiding light in the lives of those he touched.
