Jimmie E. Hines

March 4, 1948 — June 27, 2021

Jimmie E. Hines, age 73, was born on March 4, 1948 to the late Ruth Newton. He spent his early childhood years in Patterson, New York. He later moved to North Carolina where he attended HB Suggs High School in Farmville, North Carolina. Jimmy finally came to Connecticut where he reunited with his childhood friend and life partner the late Linda Vines. He worked for Metro-North Railroad until his retirement. He enjoyed reading the Bible, taking walks, listening to music, watching Westerns and wrestling and enjoying a good milkshake. His biggest joy in life was spending time with his family. Jimmie will be remembered as always having a saying for every situation and always being ready with a joke. Jimmie leaves behind his beautiful daughters Charise Vines, Lorraine Hines (Victor), Shaneka Vines (Datren), and Jessica Vines-Ashley (Corey). Nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jimmie was also pre-deceased by his cousin/best friend Everett Edwards, a brother and a sister. Friends and family are invited to attend Calling Hours on Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06608.
