Ismael Rodriguez

Ismael "Ruben" Rodriguez, age 92, of Bridgeport has passed away into the Peaceful Rest of the Lord on September 29, 2021 in Bridgeport Hospital, Bridgeport, CT; Ismael was the son of the late Nemecio Rodriguez and the late Ana Diaz; He was born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico before moving to the Mainland of the United States many years ago. Ismael was the loving husband of Aurora Rodriguez who he married over 72 years ago. A very joyful man full of life and humor, Ismael enjoyed nothing more than a good trip to Mohegan Sun, the Belmont race tracks or even the Yonkers raceway. He Loved to dance, and was a hard core Yankees & Mets fan. A very hard worker, he was a landscaper for 40 years who retired from Young's Nursery. Truly a family man full of life and always willing to help others. Although the last years of his life, his health challenges limited his ability to be who he was normally, Ismael leaves memories with his family that will last a lifetime! Ismael was pre-deceased by his grandson, Jorge Luis Rosa.
In addition to his beloved wife, Ismael is survived by his daughters, Ada N. Rodriguez, Ana Iris Rodriguez and Annie Rodriguez; his 5 grandchildren, Ada N. Perez-Garcia (Gerber), Shaun Rodriguez (Michelle), Gladys Joiner (TJ), Jeremy Santiago and Jason Santiago; 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be truly missed by all.
Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 8:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at the Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Funeral services begin at approximately 10:30 A.M. followed by interment in the Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport, CT;
