Isidoro Flores

Isidoro Flores Malave, 84, returned to the loving arms of the Lord on June 11, 2024, at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT.  He was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to the late Lorenzo Flores and the late Dolores Malave.  He took great pride in his culture and was very proud of his beloved Puerto Rico, and enjoyed his visits to the island which recharged his soul.

Isidoro was small in stature but grand in personality and spirit.  He had a great sense of humor and style.  He will fondly be remembered for his lustrous hair and quick way in which he whipped out the brush from his back pocket to brush his hair.  He was a loyal fan of the New York Mets who patiently cheered his team even in the challenging times.  When he wasn't watching the Mets he enjoyed watching the reality show "Enamorandonos" and retelling the events from the previous night.  He was a God-fearing and devout Catholic who worshipped at St. Mary's Church in Bridgeport.  He delighted in traditional Puerto Rican foods and started each morning with a proper cup of coffee with crackers.  His most cherished moments were the time he spent with his children and siblings, looking forward to Sunday dinners.  He was an extraordinary confidant who shared his pearls of wisdom to those willing to listen.

Isidoro leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving children Isidoro Jr., Evelyn, Inez, Jose, Rose and Albert, numerous precious grandchildren and great grandchildren, his dear siblings Antonio, Juan, Anibal, Felix, Amelia, Pedro, Carmen and Joaquin and a host of friends and relatives that will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his son Gregory Flores and his siblings Salvador Flores and Dolores Flores.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM and Monday, June 17, 2024, from 10:45 AM - 11:45 AM at Funeraria Luz de Paz, 426 E. Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 12:00 noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 25 Sherman Street., Bridgeport, CT.  Interment will follow immediately afterwards at Lakeview Cemetery, 885 Boston Avenue, Bridgeport, CT.
